My wife and I have been residents of Eden Prairie since 2005. We have an 8th grade son at CMS and a 5th grade daughter at Eagle Heights. In my spare time I am working on learning Spanish. I have taken classes at Normandale, and now work on the cell phone app Duolingo just about every day. I enjoy attending and watching sports and am a fan of our MN teams. My son and I collect baseball and football cards as well. My daughter makes me laugh and smile with her silliness. We cannot forget the best part of Team Weinblatt, my wife, Kelly. Within a month of us dating, I knew she was the one! However, it took me a year and a half to pop the question. We were married in July of 2006 on a 92-degree day. Kelly keeps us organized and on task. She is very active in the schools and has made so many strong connections.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family. Do you have any pets?
We have had fish in the past and sadly they did not live long lives.
Q: How long have you lived or worked in Eden Prairie?
We have lived in Eden Prairie for 17 years.
Q: What inspired you, or led you to your current career/endeavor? What do you love the most about what you do?
I have always enjoyed teaching. My goal is to educate my clients about their insurance. I give examples of when, where, and why you want a certain coverage and make recommendations. If my client leaves better understanding their insurance and can sleep well at night, I have succeeded. Of course, I also want to save them money!
Q: What are some of you favorite restaurants in Eden Prairie?
#1 Wildfire #2 Osaka #3. Bakers Ribs.
Q: Who is someone interesting in our our community that you have met or inspires you?
Mark Freiberg City Council is someone who inspires me. He knows what is happening throughout the city. Which businesses are moving in and moving out. He can tell you about the Light Rail progress and what to expect. He even knows whether or not there will ever be a traffic light between Costco and Asia Mall. What I like the best about him is that we have only met 2 or 3 times, and he knows my name.
Q: What is you favorite season? Favorite holiday?
Summer is my favorite season, today’s high is 15 degrees, and the 4th of July is my favorite holiday.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go, and why?
I have always wanted to travel to Australia. It is so far away and so different from the United States.
Q: What is a current or former business that makes you the most nostalgic about Eden Prairie?
Eden Prairie Chamber of Commerce. I joined the Chamber in 2007. It has provided me a place to grow in my career as well as become comfortable with presenting myself. There were groups I was active in such as Young Professionals and our weekly bowling league. Through the Chamber I made strong business connections and new friendships.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
I want to either follow the MN Twins for a summer or visit as many different ballparks as possible.
Q: Who or what inspires you to be a better person?
My kids inspire me to be the best I can be. It is tough to be a perfect role model. I know they are always watching what I do and often mimicking my behaviors. I want them to learn from what I do right and understand when I make a mistake.
Q: What is something unique or interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I have 3 siblings. One of my siblings is only 4 months older than I am…
Q: What is your favorite movie or TV show?
Seinfeld.
Q: What advice do you like to share with other people?
When things are tough, try and work harder. When things are easy, don’t stop trying.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?
In 5 – 10 years I see myself still working, having more gray hair, and calling my kids at college to see if it is ok for me to visit.
Q: If you could have lunch with someone alive or not, who would you choose, and why?
Tom Hanneman. Tom was my neighbor up until a couple years ago when he passed away. He was one of the nicest and most genuine people I have ever known. I always enjoyed talking with him and gaining his perspective.

Dominican Republic.
